There are a variety of different drugs that are used in anaesthesia protocols; these vary in their functions (sedative, general anaesthetic agent, analgesic etc) as well as their pharmacodynamic/pharmacokinetic properties and side effects. You should have a good working knowledge of each drug included in your specific protocol, and how they are used correctly and safely to ensure a smooth, uneventful anaesthetic experience for each of your patients.
