Introduction

A complete clinical examination of the horse must be undertaken every time we attend them. This may highlight problems which the owner may have missed, or are too subtle for them to spot.

Clinical examination includes identifying the animal, obtaining the recent and past history from the owner/handler, observing the animal and performing a complete physical exam, which form the basis for additional diagnostic tests. This section will walk you through each component of the physical examination and link to sections describing more in-depth investigations.
