This section will describe the most common, cost-effective methods to test urine samples which are easily performed by clinicians without sending to laboratories. The following tests will be described:
- visual urine assessment,
- microscopic sediment exam,
- how to use urine test strips,
- how to determine urine specific gravity.
They all have great diagnostic power, and are useful, low-cost tools for all veterinarians.
